Joe, K1JT and I at the Prague EME Conference in August 2002   Meeting VE7BQH in his shack in Vancouver during a business trip to Washington State in November 2001.  Meeting JA0BLU and many other EME amateurs in the Niigata area in April 2002.
My xyl and me when she joined me on a business trip to Tokyo in March 2003. Luckily we had some time to travel to Mount Fuji.  Doesn't black and red match perfectly? On a business trip to Shanghai September 2004.  Meeting the famous alpinist Reinhold Messner who spoke at a congress I had organised in February 2005.
Meeting Journalist Dr. Gabriele Krone-Schmalz at the same conference in February 2005.   With the Master of Chess Garri Kasparow who spoke at a conference I had organised in February 2006.   Bob, ZL1RS, could manage a short visit to my home on 6 July 2006 when he flew from Geneva via Frankfurt to Sri Lanka. Sadly we had only a few hours but it was good to meet and also listen to him telling not just about ham radio but also about his work for the International Red Cross.
Alex (RU1AA) and I met at the 11th EME Conference 2006 on August 26, 2006 in Würzburg.  Also at the 11th EME Conference, again with Joe (K1JT).  With Frank Schätzing, author of the famous bestseller "Der Schwarm" ("The Swarm. A Novel of the Deep"), in February 2007.
From left: Frank DH7FB, Josep EA3DXU and DF2ZC. On our way to ZB land we met for dinner in Barcelona on 18 April 2007 - sadly the final time I saw my friend Josep: He passed away 6 months later.   On 2 April 2009 the first German in space, Dr. Sigmund Jähn, spoke at a congress I had organised in Berlin.   On 3 April 2009 when waiting for my flight from Berlin to Cologne I met the former German Secretary of Foreign Affairs Hans-Dietrich Genscher. We had an interesting discussion about the quality of my pilot's case and about how he managed fighting the jet lags when he travelled around the world.
